I am a proud, proud American.
We may not always live up to our standards, but the standard is still there: liberty and justice for all. Each and every day offers us the opportunity to take one step closer to that ideal. And part of seizing that opportunity includes voting.
Revolutionaries built America because they believed equal representation was paramount to a great nation. It’s taken some time to extend that principle to every citizen, regardless of race and gender. But this election brings us closer than we’ve ever been. People have fought, died, protested, suffered, and rallied for your voice to be heard. I encourage you to honor their sacrifice today.
But voting is not where true change begins.
It begins with you.
If you’d like to see a change in your country, your state, your city, your home, start with yourself.
Make America great again from within. Start with yourself. Live up to the principles you believe in. Say #ImWithHer to your wives, daughters, sisters, mothers, nieces, and women friends. Be stronger together in your families, churches, communities, and neighborhoods. Take in the oppressed, the helpless, the afflicted. Listen to people who feel unheard. Stand up for truth, justice, and the One who offers freedom to all in Jesus Christ.
Have courage and be kind. Start with the man in the mirror. We can be the change we want to see in America.
